With Recycling Activities, instead of going out to buy certain items, kids will learn touse their imagination and create these items with material found in the recycling bin.

Banks for Kids
Supplies: Empty plastic jars (such as peanut butter jars) Strips of colored tissue paper, Glue Clear wide packaging tape
Have the kids glue strips of tissue paper around the jar. Let it dry. Wrap wide clear tape around it. Make a slot in the lid for coins.
Tip: make one jar of each denomination so they can learn about money!
Book Markers for Kids
Supplies: The pull out rectangular strip from the top of a box of tissues(you need the rectangular ones and not the oval ones), white construction paper remnants, wide transparent tape,hole puncher and a short colorful cord.
Cover the book marker with construction paper. Let the kids color it as they wish. Cover with wide transparent tape for durability or you can laminate it. Punch a hole at the top, and insert the cord.
Tip:Kids can make a book marker for every book series they own. It is also a great gift idea kids can make!

Pick A Box
Supplies:
Blue recycling box Black recycling box Recycling stuff for the blue and black box
Place all the recycling stuff in the center of the circle. Place the two recycling boxes on each side of the stuff.
Have the children pick up an item and put it in the right recycling box.
Hint: Help the children out by taping a pictures of cardboard boxes and paper on one box and cans and bottles on the other.
