The Three Little Kittens

Learn About Caring

"Let's play soccer!." said Patches.
"I'll get the wagon." said Sailor. And he ran off to get the wagon.
"I'll bring the snacks!" Daisy said.
And off to the park went the three little kittens

“I want to be the goalie!” said Sailor, as soon as they arrived at the park.
He ran to the nets and stood determined to stop any balls that came his way. Daisy placed the basket on a picnic table. Patches picked up the ball and kicked it to Daisy. She ran for the ball and kicked it in the net. She scored!
"Hey! I wasn't ready." said Sailor.
"You're never ready. " Daisy said.
And they all laughed.

Nearby, there was a little kitten sitting at a table with his mom. He was watching the three little kittens play soccer. He didn't have any friends yet. He had just moved here a few days ago.

Scores! Patches had just scored a goal.
“I'm hungry. Let's eat our snack." said Sailor. He wasn't happy his friends scored on him. And the three little kittens ran back to the picnic table.Daisy took out three red shiny apples and little pieces of cheese. They sat down to eat the snacks.

"Hey, look" said Patches. It's the new kitten we saw in school today." "Let’s ask him if he wants to play soccer with us.”
Sailor and Daisy were too shy to ask the little kitten to play with them.
"I don't think he wants to play soccer.” said Daisy.
"I think he wants to stay with his mom.” said Sailor. And I'm too shy to ask him."
"Me too." said Daisy.
"Well, I'm shy too, but let's ask him anyways. We can be his friends." said Patches
“And off they went to see the little kitten.

“Hello, I'm Patches and this is Daisy and Sailor.”
“Hi, my name's Tex” said the little kitten.
"We saw you in school today." said Sailor.
"Ya, we just moved here." he answered.
“Do you want to be our friend ? asked Patches.
Tex had a big smile. " O.K. I'll be your friend!" he said.
"Do you want to play soccer with us?" asked Daisy.
"Do you want to be in the nets?" asks Sailor.
They weren't shy anymore. Tex looked at his mom. She winked at him.
“I love soccer! It’s my favourite game.”
And the four kittens played soccer all afternoon. They had a lot of fun.

It was getting late. The three little kittens had to go home.
“Goodbye Tex. See you tomorrow. " they said.
“Bye, see you tomorrow at school.” he answered so happy he had found new friends.

They walked back home.
"It's easy to make new friends." said Daisy.
"You just have to ask." said Sailor.
Patched smiled. They felt really good. They had made a new friend very happy.
