Circle Time Routine

Circle time

Successful Circle Time Routine Tips

  • Have circle time every day with your group
  • Do your cicle time close to a bulletin board so the children can view the weekly theme on the board.
  • Children will look forward to sitting down and participating in circle time.
  • Since the circle routine is repeated daily, children recognise each part of the circle and can anticipate what is next. For example, weather calendar is part of the routine, and they will get into the habit of checking the weather outside because they know you are going to do an activity on that.
  • Children will also learn to share their thoughts, dreams and fears with other children. They will also learn to listen to others. This will give them a chance to raise their self-esteem, practice their language and listening skills.
  • They will observe your responses, your moves...so as a role model it will give you lots of opportunities to teach them values.
