My Journey From Day Care Teacher to Webmaster And How I Got There…
I never thought that one day I would sit down and write about my journey from Day Care Teacher to Webmaster! But...here goes!
Sometimes life throws you an unexpected curve ball, and it can stop you dead in your tracks and force you to make drastic changes in your course of life.
It happens to all of us! The difference is how you decide to deal with it. It can either make you or break you!
I had been working as a Day Care Teacher for over 25 years when I developed a health issue that kind of put my career as a Day Care Teacher at an abrupt stop. Teaching preschoolers, toddlers and school-age children was what I enjoyed doing and I knew that wasn't going to happen anymore. It wasn't easy to accept...but life goes on.
I would be off work for a while and I didn't want to stay idle. So, I went to the library and picked up a few books on how to earn income at home. I wanted to find out what was out there as far as Home Businesses. One of the books was titled Multiple Streams of Income, How Ordinary People Make Extraordinary Money Online written by Robert Allen. As I read it, I came upon a chapter written by Ken Evoy on earning income with a website on a topic you are passionate about. It hit a chord. It was as if this chapter was written just for me. Thank you Ken :) ( I will talk about him later!)
You see, at work we always had our computer turned on and we would refer to it multiple times during the day. We would browse through teacher resources sites, coloring pages to print, new songs, stories... This is where it occurred to me that I could earn income by building a website about a topic "Preschool" that I was passionate about.
It was worth investigating. So, I went directly Ken's site mentioned in the book Sitesell.com. I watched his video once and I was sold! It was a step by step website builder. I ordered my Site Build It! kit right away. To me it was a no-brainer! And this is where it all happened! Life had just taken me on a new venture!
